Worktitle: Tjakalele Alifuru

A new documentary is in the making, exploring a warrior dance from a Moluccan perspective. A story that reveals how collective memory is creating a new sense of belonging. The film explores the Tjakalele as more than a traditional dance. It is a living connection to the ancestors, a symbol of strength, and a way for the Moluccan Diaspora in the Netherlands to perserve culture, history and belonging across generations.
